Malcolm and Debbie have decided to continue with the Acute Stroke Unit as our Captains Charity for our 2023 Captains year. This is because we know they are seeking funds for new machines and we have both had family members and friends who have suffered strokes.
Royal Berks Charity serves our local community and all funds raised will be used for the benefit of patients of the Royal Berkshire Hospital Acute Stroke Unit and the TIA Clinic supporting them, and their families, as they recover and are rehabilitated after stroke. The unit serves a population of more than half a million people and treats more than 700 strokes and approximately 1000 TIA referrals every year. The TIA clinic investigates and asses people who have had a TIA and this service helps reduce the chance of a patient having another TIA or a stroke.
Thanks you for your ongoing support.
